Hairs are the blessings of the Divine

“Your hair is not there by mistake. It has a definite purpose, which saints will discover and other men will laugh at.” – Yogi Bhajan

WASHINGTON:  Bearded men are more hygiene than clean-shaven ones as they are three times less likely to harbour infection-causing and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, a new study has claimed. According to the study, published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, men without beards are more than three times as likely to be carrying a meticillin-resistant form of coagulase-negative staphylococci on their cheeks than those with beards.

1. Hairs are corrational storehouse of energy. Hair is made up of 28% oxygen 50% carbon 6% hydrogen 11% nitrogen 5% sulfur. If you choose to cut your hair, you not only lose this extra energy and nourishment, but your body must then provide a great amount of vital energy and nutrients to continually re-grow the missing hair.

2. In addition, hairs are the antennas that gather and channel the sun energy or prana to the frontal lobes, the part of the brain you use for meditation and visualization. These antennas act as conduits to bring you greater quantities of subtle, cosmic energy. It takes approximately three years from the last time your hair was cut for new antennas to form at the tips of the hair.

3. From a yogic perspective, hair is an amazing gift of nature that can actually help raise the Kundalini energy (creative life force), which increases vitality, intuition, and tranquility. The hair is tied in a rishi knot at the Tenth Gate or the Crown Chakra.

4. All spiritual masters and enlightened beings kept unshorn hair signifying the connection between hairs and spirituality. 33 crore devi devte; 84 sidh 52 veer; ;6 jati 9 naath; Brahma Vishnu Rudra; Zeus hades poseidon; Socrates archemedes Pythagoras; Ram Krishan; Muhmadh Jesus; Gautam Buddh; Rabindranath tagore; 10 sikh gurus and all gursikhs.

5. Keeping hair suggests you are close to nature, knowledge, and truth and FREE from societal norms, pressure and fashions.

6. Men with unshorn hair and beards have Masculine and lion-like appearance. There seems to be a positive relation between the amount of hair on the persons face and the perception of him as masculine mature good looking self confident courageous liberal non conformist and industrious. – Robert Pilgrini in, The Tribune daily Chd 1973

7. God is the greatest of all the artists and the Lord of the Nature and to distort the natural “Art” without any good reason is to go against the Lord’s “will” and is questioning his creativity.

8. Everything grows under the divine laws naturally, just like eyes, ears, nose etc and serve respective functions. If we don’t understand its functions, its our mistake.

9. Going bald is looked upon as the sign of a mishappening, remorse and sadness.

10. In Indian subcontinent, Hair and beard were seen as special articles of pride and the afghan invaders didn’t wish to see this pride on slave hindus faces and as a result ordered their hairs and beard to be chopped off. The girls used to cry out their heart when their hair were cut and were made quiet by filling their mouth with dirt.

11. When Genghis Khan conquered China, he considered the Chinese to be wise and intelligent people who would not allow themselves to be subjugated.  He therefore ordered all women in the country to cut their hair and wear bangs, because he knew this would serve to keep them timid and more easily controlled. As whole tribes or societies were conquered, cut hair became so prevalent that the importance of hair was lost after a few generations, and hairstyles and fashion grew to be the focus.

12. Some hair researchers suggested that during the Vietnam War, certain special forces of the United States military were ordered to infiltrate the reservations of Native Americans to look for men with amazing tracking abilities. They found that many Native American men had extraordinary tracking abilities, but after they were recruited and their hair was cut short, they lost their extraordinary tracking abilities.

13. Hairs serve as tongues for chanting the Divine Name in the higher spiritual states of Divine remembrance. Gurmukh Romm Romm Harr Dhyaveh.

14. To merge in God by eradicating ego; requires you to get in tune with divine laws and Lord’s will. A person who is not capable of appreciating the natural “Art” of God , which does not need much efforts, is, in general, also not capable of obeying the “Will” of God spiritually, which needs a lot of determination and efforts.

15. If a Brahmin has to be given death penalty for an evil act then its enough to cut their hair. – Manusmriti Adhyay 8 shloks 379

16. Samson’s story in the Bible indicates the connection between hair and unbeatable strength.

17. Business Firms, hair industy and saloons, illegal hair supply houses etc earn huge profits through your hairs. They will never highlight these natural benefits of hair.

18. Keeping hair is inexpensive and Natural. By letting yourself as nature wants to see you gives a great feeling of satisfaction too.

19. In the Sikh community , the Guru(spiritual masters) has commanded the sikh(disciples) to keep the unshorn hair till the last breath. Guru Nanak said Saabat surat rabb di bhanae beimaan. i.e. Nature gave the person a perfect beauty, but the hypocrites distort it. The sikhs can give up their lives, but not modify their bodily hair like BHAI TARU SINGH who gave up his life but didn’t let his hair be cut. Kesh is the seal of the Guru and the supreme KKar or article of faith. Every sikh prays that may their sikhi be fulfilled with their hair intact till the last breath. The sikhs do mantra meditation(naam simran) daily in the early hours of the dawn and receive the blessings of the divine.

How I spent my ‘CBSE Boards Result Day’ – 25th March, 2015

So, first let’s talk about the day before the judgement day.. Yes! On 24th March, the day was to receive all the good luck wishes for my upcoming result…And! What all I was receiving was memes on results..  For example…. “bhagwan bas pass kara dena, Sunny leone ke kabhi sapne m bhi darshan nahi krunga(God, help me clear the exam, I won’t see Sunny Leone in my dreams)” “Bhagwan, maths sambhal lena, Priya ko apni behen ki tarah samjhunga(God, save my maths result, I will see Priya as my sister)”, etc. Well, such memes were meant to be funny but they didn’t amuse me.   I knew it was my result too the very next day. I  think I was somewhat excited but the exitement didn’t reflect on my face. Putting it simple, I wasn’t nervous at all is what I want to say. A little about the result was going in my mind and I was just passing time the regular way – talking with my friends, texting people and enjoying the nature’s beauty around my place.

Since, teachers are very conscious about the board exams result. One of my teacher texted me,” Kamalpreet, tomorrow is your result. You must be having goosebumps by now”And I was like.. Whaaa…? Goooosebummmps? Nah…
Hahah.. and I replied,”No, not at all. Just a regular day with regular feelings”.
She replied,”Really? And I did, “Hahah..yeah!”

Earlier that evening, I had a conversation with my friend Sakshika, a national level athlete, my athletics mate, friend and my junior. So, she asked me for joining the team on the result day and for the one last time before I went back to my old town( I had to leave for gurgaon post result).

Now, since the result day was a little special one; I decided to wake up early in the morning and woke up as early as about 4 or 5 am. I took a bath and continued my daily routine and did the Path(Prayer) of Panj Baani(Five morning prayers in Sikh custom) and headed towards Gurudwara Paonta Sahib. After praying before Guru Granth Sahib Ji, I came out and went to meet my fellow athletes in the gurudwara ground.

But, they weren’t there. I looked around and realised they went for hill running or stairs workout at the river behind and below gurudwara ponta sahib. As I reached the spot, My Athletics Sir sat on an elevated stair and my team assembled in a group. Sakshika looked with a Wow! Kamal! expression and I went to greet my coach. Then I personally met and shook hands with every member of the team – A mix of girls and boys. They finished the workout and we headed towards the ground. We took a few photographs as a memory.

Since, the athletes were students, the school was about to begin and the school bus was waiting for them to board. Everyone boarded the bus and I and Sakshi started clicking selfies. I, along with Sakshika and Kajol(our friend and athletics mate) boarded the bus. Since, they too awaited there X class boards results, their classes were off. The bus dropped us somewhere close to the school from where they used to walk back home.

So, we three were off the bus now. We stood at the spot where we deboarded. And, since it was about 8:15am. I had two options to choose from:

1. Return to my home and check the result.
2. Accompany Kajol to her home which was about 2 km from there and meet my friend Puja, Kajol’s sister, an athlete, my friend and a commerce batchmate awaiting the boards result.

I chose the second and we started walking. Since, I and Sakshika are little photogenic we decided to click some pictures and we clicked a few more or less than 50 snapshots. We dropped Sakshika near her home and continued our journey. We kept talking. We talked about-the school, the result, the athletes, the coach, her parents, the weather and my new watch.

We reached her home and got welcomed by Pooja with two glasses of lemonade. Soon, we had lunch and after that did non-stop gossip. The few main topics were – My latest crush, my crush’s cuteness,  my crush’s attitude.. I mean My crush was the main topic. We dedicated a little time to click photographs and finally decided to see the result at her place together.

She, too, was to see her result and was tensed like wtf.  After every 3 minutes she was authorised to repeat,” Kamal mujhe darr lgra hai(I’m nervous, Kamal!)”. The result was to be announced at about 12 pm. As the time approached, her nervousness reached its peak. I and Kajol kept playing and fooling around talking about her medals, her facebook stalkers and stuff.

Ok. It struck 12. Pooja kept shouting, “Jaldi dekh! Jaldi Dekh! (Be quick) and I deliberately slowed down the process. We checked the result. Yes! We checked the result.

And, the result was ‘YET to be Announced’. What a syringe of stress it was for her. We kept checking the result after every 2-3 minutes and the result ultimately was that my Phone’s (Either the fault is of samsung or android – Battery life sucks) battery got drained and we had no hopes left to see the result as it was the only working internet connection with us at that time. We looked out for a charger in the neighbourhood. We found a local one and it seemed to harass my phone’s life. We discarded and returned it

After some deliberations, I decided to go back home because a phone was an important thing to stay connected with the world at that crucial point of time. We exchanged warm goodbyes and goodlucks and I got a biker to drop me somewhere around my locality. I was a now little excited, nervous, tensed and adrenaline seemed to rush in as the time was up and the result been declared. I ran home – took the shortcuts through the fields and farms. I reached home, and shouted for Laptop and Phone charger.

Windows 8.1 loaded and as soon as the phone was switched on, I could not work on my laptop because the phone rang non-stop. Teachers, friends, everyone wanted me to tell them my result.. and I was CLUELESS… Yeah! I didn’t know my result yet. My business teacher had seen my result and she rang to enquire,“did you see your result?”. I said,”No, Im yet to open the webpage.”. Somehow the line got disconnected. I multi tasked my hands and brain on both phone and laptop and opened the webpage for CBSE Boards Reseults – 2015. I put in my roll number – 2734929!!. No I did not close my eyes, Lol.

The result was out and it was “Webpage is not availaible”. Wtf was that! At the same time, my friend rang me up to say that one of our classmate got 95 % and it surprised me. Although I didn’t care about that then. I kept reloading the page in vain. I got more calls and texts on the phone.

I rang my dad and.. dafuq.. Due to my carelessness didn’t see that the internet package expired and the phone’s balance was less than a rupee besides the fact that the webpage wasn’t loading and I found myself stuck alone among everyone waiting. I rushed to a nearby shop and got the internet package recharged along with the phone’s balance. More and more questions now awaited me.

Result?
Kya Bana?
Passed?
Topped iss baar?
Result kya kara?
Top school me kiya ya commerce me
?

My mind said,“Shut the fuck up! I hadn’t seen the result then. I texted everyone back that the webpage wasn’t loading and gave my roll no. to them for checking out my result. They abused me first and then disclosed that I got a 95+. I thanked god and felt content. And soon, ‘congratualtions’ was the word I could see on facebook, whatsapp and “partyyyy ab toh” was the word I could hear.

My dad was in gurudwara. I informed him and he thanked god too. I shouted it to my mom who were busy talking with her friend in the neighbourhoood. She said, “Ok!” and continued talking with her. Haha..
I rang up Pooja and told her the result – mine as well as her’s.

Then, it was the time that my sister had to come back from school. I went to the bus stop and got her home. A few friends and teachers congratulated me on the way too. Even the shopkeeper did. We went home.. and after replying to immediate congratulations texts, I went for the sweets shop and distributed Barfi in my locality.. The common words heared – “Aao beta, congrats, kya baat hai, Ninety Five percccent!, naam roshan kardia hamari colony ka.”And I couldn’t finish the job until 10 pm. And later I was busy till 2 am replying to the old questions and receiving congrats..

The next day saw us, or few of us; partying, enjoying, distributing sweets in the school, clicking pictures with teachers, friends and roaming about the world..!

The result day was an exciting experience and this post will help me recollect the excitement.

The Elder Son

My friend wanted me to write a serious one.. And I came up with this somewhere in middle of August 2014.

INDIA-RIGHTS-CHILD LABOUR

He, the elder son, watches his family;
Starving, wandering, being bare;
Its all thoughtless and vacuum occupied,
There’s not a thing they got to share.

He looks around, with eyes filled with little hope;
To get a merciful work and have his family cope,
They too have needs, though not too much;
Still, it seems hard to satisfy such.

He is bent with the burden and the load,
Which gets heavy and heavier
Carrying, working and walking miles on the dusty road.

He might have lost ‘the’ smile somewhere,
And ‘the’ cheerful child’s face,
When you search for the lost place,
You don’t find a single trace.

His eyes too, once lived in a dream;
But now, just a dark truth is what all seems;
Which has captivated them in a pity state,
Where there’s no escape or an exit gate.

The load gets heavier day by day,
While the weak figure looks for a way-
A way which would get them freed,
From dust, dirt and the wilder weed.

He still thinks that it’s hope,
Which could work as a rope,
And could save and get them away,
It’s all a thought: and nothing ahead I know what to say!

The Beautiful Girl

This poem I wrote for a girl….. and wanted to show it to her on her birthday but.. Haha.. I missed it somewhere ^_^!

cute-fairy-tale-love-photo-text-favim-com-206306

This day belongs to you; the prettiest girl,

Having a smile that outshines any pearl.

Exaggeration I just ain’t doing;

I’m only spilling out the truth.

Imperfection is not your thing,

You are an outstanding book.

You are an angel; Who pours water into a dry sea.

I’ve cooked nothing! Just said whatever I see.

Few feelings in words; I always wished to share,

That come straight from my heart’s deep-down layer.

You were always the one whom I admired,

Well; No lies I said – I’m no liar.

I looked through and saw truth in your eyes,

And your soul within – So calm and wise.

Your personality’s great – The sweet little girl I know.

Who’s so nice and caring – Yes! This is so.

Hoping that all your wishes come true,

And your life be just as sweet as you!

:* 🙂

Positive Attitude and It’s benefits

Alright.. So time to move on to a topic of our daily choice. It’s only a choice(a free choice) and it’s befenits are simply countless. Well, we’re going to discuss on positive attitude..

The idea about me writing on positive attitude came from a declamation contest that was held in my school. It was inter-class(XII standard) contest and 20 students(out of about 250) participated. I, too, participated.. and well! I’m no good speaker.. and I was settled at the 4th position. Maybe, because I crossed the alloted time for speaking which was just 5 minutes.

tumblr_liyceqFEHT1qfmnbfo1_500

Here it goes:

When our attitude is right, we realise that we are walking on acres and acres of diamonds. Opportunity is right under our feet. And! All we have to do is to recognise it.

Good Morning Everyone

Respected Sir Principal, Honorable Teachers, Worthy judges and Yes! Ofcourse.. All my dear friends! Today, I, Kamalpreet Singh, a scholar of class XII-D is standing in front of you all to speak on “Positive Attitude and it’s Benefits”.

So, What’s attitude? As my pocket oxford dictionary defines it, attitude! Is a way.. of talking, thinking and behaving! However! I believe it’s significance in our lives is much more than that. Our attitude itself is our way of life.

Friends, as you see, we have a choice.. a choice everyday! Regarding the attitude we hold for that day. And as they say the only difference between a good day and a bad day is our attitude.

Friends, we cannot change our past.. Seriously! We cannot change it. We cannot change the way certain people think.. I can’t change the way this guy might be thinking about me right now.. yeah? We cannot change what’s inevitable. So, what can we actually change? To feel better in certain situations? The answer is our Attitude! Yea! Our attitude!…

Let me give you an example of my friend who is a good badminton player(I was referring to myself though) often going for various matches. We all know that one cannot win everytime, and losing.. Is a harsh feeling, of course. So, what does he do when he loses a crucial match? Does he cry? No..! Does he become upset and reclusive? No..!

Instead.. He inspires himself that he’ll work harder and improve his skill, so that, he performs better next time and wins. And this is how, his positive attitude, helps him in overcoming problems and coping up with stress easily.

So, our attitude determines outcomes. And, this truth, is accepted by most successful people of the world; whether it be a doctor going for an extremely difficult surgery or a businessman launching a new project. It is the correct attitude which gives them the winning edge.

Let’s see… the industrialists, the big business houses.. they often set up huge plants and invest in new projects. The mobile companies, like samsung, introduce new smartphones every other week. The television channels, like Zee TV, air new serials like Jamai Raja, Neeli Chattri Waale, etc every other day.. And, all this happens with a positive attitude.

Just Imagine, what would have happened..If those incustrialists, fearing losses would have never set up new plants and invested in new projects? Then, centainly my friends, Mr.Ambani would have never become such a multi-billionaire.

38331-Dhiru+bhai+ambani+quotes+inspi

Or what if? Our favourite Kapil Sharma, fearing low response from the audience, never worked in Comedy Nights with Kapil? Then, he too would have missed the chance to become so much popular and have a huge fan following.

After-Bollywood-Kapil-Sharma-now-attracts-Lollywood

So, when people hold such negative attitudes they restrict themselves.. They lose the opportunity to achieve something! So, a correct attitude, or a positive attitude, is a key to success.

Our attitude also reflects our behaviour. One’s attitude towards the other determines the other’s attitude towards him. For example, if we smile at someone the other person might also smile back and vice versa…

In a nutshell.. A positive attitude helps in overcoming our problems easily, coping up with stress, is a key to success and helps in maintaining healthy human relationships.

So, cultivating a positive attitude is like ploughing a field…It takes time.. It has to grow from within..Inspiration is what gets a man started..Motivation is what keeps him on track..And It’s positive attitude which makes it all automatic..

Thank You! And adopt a positive outlook towards life!

After that I was asked a question..

Question: Does positive attitude ensure success?

My answer was:

positive-attitude-chart

Success is a matter of personal opinion and conception.. It depends on what we understand as being successful(most often it’s one’s goal). Positive attitude alone is not enough to bring success(as per the person’s definition of success) but it surely is a necessary ingredient in one’s success recipe along with hard work and determination.
